Onboard Historical Azure Data

For Azure, we can get 3 months of historical data from the Azure Portal as an one-time Cost Usage Export.

Please export 1 months at time. For example, to provide the historical data for Nov and Dec 2023, run two exports:

  1. First: Nov 1 - Nov 30

  2. Second: Dec 1 - Dec 31

By default, Azure provides historical cost exports for the previous 30 days. If you want to get older data into Yotascale, please open a support request with Azure support.

Follow these steps to generate historical data export:

  1. Login to the Azure Portal

  2. Go to “Cost Management + Billing”

  3. Clinking on the billing scope, you want to see the costs in Yotascale

  4. Click on Exports.

  5. Select the same exact names as you did for for the Daily Exports, the only difference is that here, on the “Export type”, select the “One-time export” and the start and end dates.
Please export one month at at time. This example shows the export for “Actual = Cash” for Dec 2023:

  6. All the remainder values should remain the same, so that we can use the same storage account, container, and export name as for the daily exports. This is an example based on the Daily export for “Actual” costs we did in the first step

  7. Then you need to run it. It only needs to run once. Select the newly created export, and click on “Run now” from the 3 dot menu:

  8. Please repeat the same for the “Amortized” costs.
