How to Enable Recommendations

Yotascale offers two types of recommendations out-of-the-box, requiring no additional setup:

• AWS Savings Plans Recommendations: These help optimize your AWS Savings Plans based on historical usage.

• Container Pod Request Rightsizing: These optimize vCPU and vMemory allocations for Kubernetes workloads to reduce costs.

These recommendations are generated by Yotascale's proprietary engine and are refreshed daily.

Other types of recommendations require access to the cloud provider's advisor or recommendations engine:

• AWS: Yotascale needs read access to AWS Trusted Advisor. For account-level discount and reservation recommendations, access is required to the payer/master account. For utilization recommendations, each linked/member account needs to be onboarded individually. You can add unconnected accounts in Yotascale by navigating to Settings > Connections under your AWS Payer/Master account.

• Azure: Yotascale requires read access to the billing account advisor (Microsoft.Advisor/recommendations/read). This grants access to all recommendations associated with the billing account. Refer to the Azure onboarding guide for detailed instructions.

• GCP: Yotascale requires GCP Recommender to be enabled and cost recommendations to be exported to BigQuery, allowing Yotascale to access cost and usage reports.
